Company History 1996-Present

• 1996 Mike Murphy purchases a portable sign company in MN with Patent Rights to proprietary signage technology.
• Mike sets up portable sign rental distributorships through the US- 80 total offices.
• Brent Teeter and David Hargrave partner to open one of Mikes sign distributorships in Dallas-Fort Worth, Shreveport and Tulsa.
• Sign distributors start offering balloon advertising rental.
• Portable sign business experiences great decline due to nationwide city beautification efforts.
• Inflatable balloon manufactures hires Mike Murphy to do national roll-outs for Burger King 3 times. (4000 locations serviced each time)

Executive Leadership

Brent Teeter

Brent Graduated from Baylor University in 1988 with a Degree in Real Estate/Finance.  Over the next 15 years Brent held various management positions with Fortune  500 companies such as GlaxoSmithKline Beecham, Cadbury Schweppes, and Phillips.  During this same time period Brent worked with Mike Murphy and David Hargrave on several entrepreneurial ventures.  Using the infrastructure developed in a previous business,  Brent and Mike started Powerhouse Retail Services in 2003.  Brent has two children Maxwell Teeter (19) and Wesley Teeter (10).

Mike Murphy

Mike is a native Iowan who has a BA in finance from Wartburg College in 1989 and his MBA from TCU in 1991. Mike Purchased an outdoor marketing company, Express Signs, beginning in 1996 and expanded it Nationally.  The nationwide distributor network he built with Express Signs led to the Start of Powerhouse in 2003.

David Hargrave

David graduated from TCU in 1989 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and in 1991 with a Master degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing/Finance.  From 1991 through 2009 David held Senior Management positions with BNSF Railway in Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Sales.  During this time, David teamed with Mike Murphy and Brent Teeter to launch several entrepreneurial ventures, with the most recent birthing Powerhouse Retail Services.  In 2009, David left BNSF to support Powerhouse’s growth objectives.
